Investment expected to create 100 new jobs
Gov. Nikki Haley, the South Carolina Department of Commerce, the Town of Jonesville and the Union County Development Board today announced that Textile Trends will establish its new production facility in Union County. Gov. Nikki Haley, the South Carolina Department of Commerce, the Laurens County Development Corporation and Laurens County announced that Flame Spray S.p.A., an Italian international group and leading maker of thermal spray coatings, will establish its new production facility in Laurens County. The $9.2 million investment is expected to generate more than 50 new jobs over the next five years and establish a state-of-the-art thermal spray coating facility in Laurens County.

Southern Business and Development Magazine bragged on the Upstate region in their Winter 2011 edition noting the Upstate as one of the Top Ten Comeback Kids. Even with a recession to manage, it highlighted that the Upstate landed some noteworthy projects, more than any other region in the state.
