ABOUT UPSTATE SC ALLIANCE
Formed in 2000, the Upstate South Carolina Alliance is a public/private regional economic development organization representing 10 counties in the northwest corner of South Carolina.
Our mission: to establish Upstate South Carolina as a unified and innovative economic region; market the Upstate for global business investment and talent attraction; foster public-private collaboration and regional relationships; and move ideas into action.
Our vision: a 10-county Upstate SC region where business thrives, and people can prosper through access to a diverse array of career opportunities.
We work as a team with the region’s local economic developers, investor organizations, and the SC Department of Commerce to move business forward in the Upstate.
ABOUT UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA
Upstate South Carolina is a 10-county region in the northwest corner of South Carolina, located between Atlanta and Charlotte. Anchored by the cities of Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson and Greer, the region includes Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Laurens, Greenville, Greenwood, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg and Union counties.
The Upstate SC region includes the Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson Combined Statistical Area, made up of:
- The Greenville-Anderson-Greer Metropolitan Statistical Area,
- The Spartanburg Metropolitan Statistical Area,
- The Gaffney Micropolitan Area,
- The Greenwood Micropolitan Area,
- The Seneca Micropolitan Area.
