The Flint, Mich.-based company is known for its separation technologies for paint removal, instrument panels, electrostatic and optical separation.

The company has purchased a former textile warehouse building at 2333 Sandifer Blvd. in Westminster and will remodel the 88,000-square-foot facility for its operations. These renovations are expected to be complete in the spring of 2015.

“The purchase of this building is key to our strategic growth in the South. Within the next 10 years, we see our operation in South Carolina being as large as our operation in Michigan, where we operate in 225,000 square feet with 85 employees,” said Scott Melton, president of ACI plastics. “The new South Carolina plant in Oconee County will add capacity to our paint removal and instrument panel recycling.”

The company plans to begin hiring for the new positions in mid-Jaunary. Those interested may apply after January 15, 2015 by sending resumes to ACI Plastics’ office manager ([email protected]) or in person at 435 East Shockley Ferry Road in Anderson.

“It will be exciting to watch this company grow here and create new opportunities for our citizenry,” said Joel Thrift, chairman of Oconee County Council

ACI Plastics has been in business for 28 years, with operations in South Carolina, Michigan, Arizona and Nebraska.
