Distribution facility underway near S.C. Inland Port

June 7, 2013

A distribution facility is under construction on land that abuts the S.C. Inland Port in Greer.

An unnamed tenant will occupy the facility. Initial site preparation has been completed and a concrete slab has been poured for the 400,000-square-foot facility, expected to be complete in December, Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport CEO and President Dave Edwards said.

Oak Brook, Ill.-based CenterPoint Properties is developing the property located off Verne Smith Parkway in Greer on land owned by GSP. CenterPoint officials did not return requests for comment by press time.

“The development has a connection with the inland port,” said Edwards, declining to name the tenant. “It backs up immediately to the inland port itself, and the tenant identified a need to be connected with the train service at the inland port.”
