Company investing $10.4 million to open Upstate manufacturing facility

Pantex International S.p.A., a hygiene materials producer primarily serving the global personal care market, is establishing its first U.S. operations – Pantex Americas, Inc. – in Greenville County. The $10.4 million investment is expected to create 45 new jobs in Simpsonville, S.C. over the next five years.

Established in 1987, Pantex first began to pursue a more global presence in 2007. The company’s new U.S. operations will help further this effort, complementing an existing production facility in the United Arab Emirates as well as the company’s Sulmona, Italy headquarters. Pantex’s international growth is allowing the firm better serve increasing customer demand.

Located at 844 S.E. Main Street in Simpsonville, Pantex’s Greenville County manufacturing operations will focus on the production of perforated nonwovens, composites and films for the feminine hygiene applications as well as elastic laminates for baby care and adult incontinence fastening system. The 140,000-square-foot facility is expected to be fully operational by the third quarter of 2015. Hiring for all positions is currently underway.
