Company creating more than 100 highly-skilled career positions at Greenville County headquarters location
ScanSource, Inc. (NASDAQ:SCSC), the leading global provider of technology products and solutions, is expanding its headquarters location in Greenville County. The public company is creating over 100 highly-skilled career positions and investing more than $6 million in the expansion of its Greenville County headquarters location over the next five years.
With 43 offices located across North America, South America and Europe, ScanSource is a leading global provider of technology products and solutions including point-of-sale (POS), barcode, physical security, 3D printing, voice, video and data networking solutions. As a distributor, ScanSource enables hundreds of manufacturers to scale the distribution of their products to thousands of technology resellers. These technology categories include barcode scanners commonly found in retail and industrial settings, telephone and videoconferencing systems used in the workplace, and video surveillance that protects businesses and schools. The company employs more than 2,100 worldwide.
Approximately 650 employees work at the corporate headquarters campus at Logue Court off Pelham Road in Greenville. The newly announced expansion will convert approximately 30,000 square feet of warehouse space into office space for a growing sales force and support staff.
ScanSource has expanded its current headquarter campus location five times over the past 10 years, ultimately occupying over 175,000 square-feet in two buildings on more than 24 acres on Pelham Road. Likewise, each time ScanSource expands beyond South Carolina and the U.S., it has a positive impact on new jobs in the Upstate, as many support functions for the global corporation are provided in Greenville.
Locally in Greenville and statewide, ScanSource has an estimated economic impact of more than $20 million annually. This includes major contributions to education and other philanthropic causes, sales transactions with local businesses, and the financial impact of bringing visitors to the area for conferences and meetings.
The Greenville expansion project is expected to be complete over the next five years. For more information about ScanSource, visit www.scansource.com.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits, as well as a $150,000 Set Aside grant to Greenville County to assist with the costs of building up fit and site improvements related to the project.
