Swedish manufacturer FlexQube to provide Spartanburg market solutions with Spark Center SC location
August 20, 2020
FlexQube, a Swedish manufacturer of custom, automated manufacturing components, will locate at Spartanburg Community College’s Spark Center SC to begin providing solutions in the Upstate automotive manufacturing market.
FlexQube offers a unique and patented concept that delivers modular, flexible material-handling carts used inside manufacturing assembly plants. With manufacturing in Sweden and the U.S., and distribution across North America and Europe, FlexQube’s location at Spartanburg Community College’s Tyger River Campus is strategically motivated to best serve the company’s customers.
“To have distribution and assembly in our own hands means we can increase our capacity, improve our on-time deliveries, and improve the quality to our customers. We also get a better opportunity to conduct more product tests and demo shows for existing and potential customers, especially crucial for our autonomous eQart concept and the Liftrunner Tugger Trains,” said FlexQube CEO Anders Fogelberg. “This is a major and important step for FlexQube on the North American market.”
The Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Futures Group, Spartanburg Community College and the Upstate Alliance worked to find FlexQube the space it needed in Spartanburg County. The Spark Center SC, a facility designed to ignite economic growth, serves as a catalyst for business and economic development.
“FlexQube is another great addition to Spartanburg’s manufacturing, specifically automotive manufacturing, sector,” said David Britt, Spartanburg County Councilman, and chair of the Economic Development Committee. “Being able to locate at the Spark Center SC and begin providing market solutions in the area will help FlexQube firmly establish itself in Spartanburg as the company embarks on its next steps.”
