ZF Transmissions to expand plant in Laurens County

ZF, a global supplier of driveline and chassis technology, will expand its operations in Laurens County, opening the company’s first passenger car transmission plant in the United States.
The expansion will create 450 new jobs and more than $175 million in capital investment. Part of the largest single venture in ZF’s history outside Germany, the new plant will be the third expansion in four years for ZF. The facility will bring the company’s total investment in South Carolina to more than $600 million. By 2016, the number of employees the company has in Laurens County is expected to increase to 1,650 from 1,200, according to ZF officials.
