BHE GT&S is an interstate natural gas transmission and storage company headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, that became a standalone subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy in November 2020. BHE GT&S operates more than 5,560 miles of gas transmission line and 860 Bcf of underground storage in the eastern U.S., along with gathering, processing and field services businesses.
The energy BHE GT&S delivers supports major distribution utilities, power plants and manufacturing. BHE GT&S is also an industry leader in liquefied natural gas solutions, through initiatives such as Pivotal LNG and our 75% operating stake in the Cove Point LNG facility in Lusby, Maryland.
BHE GT&S subsidiary Carolina Gas Transmission (CGT), based in Columbia, South Carolina, provides safe, reliable and affordable natural gas transportation services to markets in South Carolina and southeast Georgia. CGT owns and operates nearly 1,500 miles of transmission pipeline, serving wholesale customers including power generators, large industrials, local distribution companies, municipalities, and energy marketers. CGT’s pipeline system provides a critical infrastructure link between end-users and wholesale supply.
