GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS IN THE UPSTATE

In 2013, the Upstate of South Carolina joined the Global Cities Initiative, a joint project of the Brookings Institution and JPMorgan Chase. Since then, our team has worked to develop practical knowledge, policy ideas and networks needed to become more globally connected and competitive through the Upstate SC Regional Export and Foreign Direct Investment plans.

The Upstate SC Alliance regularly partners with the European American Chamber of Commerce – Carolinas and Upstate International to present events that address timely international trade topics, as well as events that explore challenges and best practices that impact middle market company growth. The Upstate SC Alliance also regularly hosts visits by consular, bi-lateral chamber, and trade organization representatives to deepen the region’s global network.
